Recent travel for heritage reproduction

Last year I had the pleasure of being hired by Historic Plaster Conservation Services to work on The Colonial Building in St. John’s Newfoundland.  The building is an important historical landmark as the seat of confederacy and the interior decorative painting is outstanding in the quality of workmanship and the diversity of painted finishes.  I worked on reproducing the original quarter-sawn oak painted finish on the doors, baseboards and window casings in a mock up room.  While there I was able to tour the rest of the building to see the remarkable work and the ongoing effort to preserve and restore it.  I hope the government can find the funds to properly restore this building back to it’s original...
